Family Service Counselor (Cemetery Sales)

Position now open! Busy cemetery is seeking a sales oriented professional with a desire to serve client families by making at-need cemetery arrangements and selling pre-need arrangements.
The Family Service Counselor serves families by providing exemplary personalized service while generating revenue for the cemetery as well as acting as the primary contact for families.
Duties: * Respond to client inquiries in a timely, respectful, sensitive and professional manner * Connect with families through listening, honest communication and genuine concern * Develop an understanding of each family's unique needs and offers solutions that provide value to them * Stay in touch with families to ensure satisfaction * Perform all procedures with professionalism and attention to detail * Follow through on all customer problems and requests * Educate families on the benefits of pre-planning * Collaborate with other members of the funeral home staff to ensure smooth operations * Maintain a clean and organized work environment Skills: * Must be a good listener and communicator * Quick learner * Proactive, self starter * Goal oriented * Must be a team player * Ability to work a number of evenings and or weekends every month * Ability to drive frequently * Ability to obtain and maintain an insurance license in the state of California * Ability to treat others with empathy and respect * Knowledge of computers and some software * Customer service skills Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in counseling or related field preferred) * Previous experience in a similar role is a plus * Valid driver's license * Ability to pass a rigorous background check with the Department of Justice and must be able to obtain both a California Cemetery salespersons license and a State of California Insurance license.
