Job Description
About the Role
Our team of Construction Purchasing Agents are responsible for ensuring that all building materials needed are available to the Module manufacturing team in a timely manner and within set financial parameters.
Our Purchasing Team has members who focus on raw materials, such as lumber, construction components & sub-assemblies, facility & MRO needs, and one-time buys as directed by the VP of Manufacturing.
All team members will be cross trained into each category.
Initiative, flexibility, transparency, and a positive attitude are desirable candidate attributes.
Maintain vendor contact lists and account information
Ensure that all current & future vendors provide required documentation
Maintain & file vendor quotes, agreements & contracts
Perform bid analysis using Bid Comparison tools
Respond to all purchase requests timely
Create and issue purchase orders
Follow purchasing hierarchy and department rules
Work with inventory control to ensure that inventoried material levels are kept
As needed, search, research and follow new vendor onboarding procedures
Track & update Job Readiness documents and programs accurately
Update purchase orders and expected deliveries in ERP system in a timely manner
Create inventory shortage reports
Resolve disputes with vendors concerning timely delivery, quantity discrepancies and quality issues
Participate in SCAPA (Supplier Corrective and Preventative Action) situations
Participate in vendor scorecard process
Participate in quarterly, semi-annual, or annual supplier reviews
Qualifications
About You
Solid experience in the procurement of building materials
High School Diploma + 5 years of relevant experience, or
College degree in Business or related field + 2 years of experience
Experience purchasing within an ERP system (SAP preferred)
Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint experience
Excellent math skills
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work in a changing environment with a growing company
Preferences:
Certifications in purchasing and MS Office are a plus
Pay Range: $50-80K DOE
