The Classroom Consultant Family Engagement Team is looking for a highly motivated team-player, ready to make a difference in the lives of many children and their families.
This position is part of the CAPC’s Early Childhood Education team- overseeing this particular program.
This position requires the ability to collaborate with others and requires the desire to work with teachers, infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families.
Early childhood intervention can change the developmental path and improve outcomes for children, families, and communities.

” Definition of Classification: Under the direction of the ECE Assistant Director, the Child Development Consultant Coordinator will perform administrative work through supportive coordination efforts of multiple funding contracts in the Mental Health department.
This includes, but is not limited to, work prioritization and assignment, staff administrative support, and collection of required reporting data and documentation as required by funding contracts.
The Child Development Consultant Program Coordinator will support the Director in administrative coordination efforts of the Child Development Consultant team and maintain an assigned caseload.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but is a critical team member that supports program staff and ensures consistent awareness of program expectations, implementation, and completion.
The Program Coordinator will support staff in providing hands-on coaching experiences, training & behavioral support for children and families enrolled at every CAPC child care location, and alerting the Director to program/performance concerns that may jeopardize program funding.
Travel is required throughout San Joaquin County.
Spanish speaking preferred, not required.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: BA degree in Child Development, social work, early education, or related field.
Experience: Two years of relevant experience teaching/working with children (ages 0 to 5) and families.
Preschool classroom experience preferred.
Description of Duties: General: 1.
Represent the agency in a consistently professional manner, always modeling a commitment to the agency’s Mission and Values.
2.
Promote and maintain a sense of teamwork between Early Education Services, other CAPC staff, volunteers, Board members, and , Children & Youth Services , CPS, community partner agencies, and other individuals relevant to the successful case management of each case.
Network with other community agencies and participate when requested, in community and health fairs and other events designed to promote CAPC programs.

Develop and maintain mutually beneficial working relationships with other stakeholders to ensure support of the agency’s vision, mission and values.
4.
Ability to work effectively with diverse staff, parents, children and community members.
5.
Maintain compliance and knowledge of all CAPC Policies and Procedures, funding and regulatory rules, and laws that apply to the program contracts and oversight agencies.
6.
Have knowledge and experience supporting and implementing high-quality teaching and instructional practices including Classroom Scoring Assessment System (CLASS), Environment Rating Scale (ECERS/ITERS), Creative Curriculum, Teaching Pyramid (CSEFEL), The Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP), and Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3).

Have a solid working knowledge of behavior interventions and therapeutic techniques.
8.
Have a basic knowledge of mental illness diagnoses as it relates to the 0-5 population.
9.
Complete reports, trackers, documentation and other items as required by funding source or as directed by Department Director.
Administrative Tasks: 1.
Oversee daily activities/calendars of staff to ensure program achievement.
2.
Support staff in adequate use of time management, prioritization of tasks, and other related responsibilities' 3.
Maintain records for meetings and other program requirements.
4.
Ensure staff follow agency personnel & program policies and procedures, alerting Director to potential disciplinary concerns when applicable.
5.
Ensure completion of documents and records/trackers by team is thorough and timely, as directed by the Department Director.
6.
Support efficient workflow within the program, providing recommendations to team members and Director in areas where improvement is necessary.
7.
Ensure documentation, files, trackers, and other databases are maintained in a manner consistent with agency or funding requirements.
8.
Act as program liaison between staff and Director – ensuring sound understanding of program expectations and contractual achievement.
9.
Monitor supply needs and complete funding requests as necessary.
Program Specific: 1.
Classroom & Child Observation and Assessment A.
Assume a critical role in the classroom team by observing all children enrolled for challenging behaviors, offering supportive & strategic interventions for the teachers to utilize to reduce frequency of those behaviors.
B.
Collaborate with families to complete ASQ-SE assessments of all children enrolled within 45 days of enrollment.
Complete necessary ChildPlus documentation to ensure this deadline is achieved and recorded accurately.
C.
Complete other assessment measures as directed by Department Director.
D.
Utilize assessment tools to support families in identifying needed referrals.
E.
Create a collaborative working relationship with the teaching teams of each classroom and develop strategies to effectively share outcomes of assessment measures and discuss needs of each student and family.
F.
Effectively and regularly communicate with families about observations related to their child, their child’s behavior, outcome of assessment measures and any recommendations for intervention or other supportive services.
G.
Participate in clinical consultation as assigned for the purposes of reviewing child case history and to determine whether/when referrals for higher level of intervention should be facilitated.
2.
Implement coaching, training, and support to teaching staff and families involving behavioral intervention for all children enrolled in a CAPC child care program.
A.
Use assessment and observation outcomes to appropriately develop and implement appropriate behavior intervention and child support plans in a consistent manner appropriate to the Individual’s life setting and needs.
B.
Design systematic procedures that result in lasting positive changes in individual student behaviors.
C.
Maintain files on a daily basis and assisting with any related statistical and/or evaluation components.
D.
Provide whole classroom social skills lessons to support children with challenges on relevant topics recommended by teaching staff or through observation.
E.
Consult with teachers to facilitate the infusion of counseling learning activities into the regular education curricula.
F.
Support teachers in maintenance of/response to crisis situations when appropriate.
G.
Assume responsibility for case assessments, service/client plans, and reports for each client.
Meet contractual deadlines as outlined in the program Scope of Work or assigned by the Department Director.
H.
Establish trust with families through family centered support and encouragement.
Engage a minimum of 80% of families in acceptance of home-based supports.
I.
Facilitate regular team meetings that include teaching staff and families to review child’s progress and efficacy of child support plan interventions.
Revise as necessary.
J.
Model implementation of child support plan strategies to ensure consistency in the classroom.
Observe for proper understanding and implementation from teachers and families; provide supportive coaching/redirection where appropriate.

In Home Supportive Services A.
Engage a minimum of 80% of families in acceptance of home-based supports.
B.
Conduct home based visits with families at a frequency determined appropriate by the child’s support plan.
C.
Support families in understanding and implementing the strategies outlined in the child’s support plan.
D.
Provide general case management support, providing referrals for community resources as needs arise.
E.
Promptly and accurately document services provided in Child Plus and any other file required by funding source or as directed by Department Director.
F.
Collect required surveys at the end of program implementation as required by funding source or as directed by the Department Director.
4.
Provide quality coaching, training and mentoring to establish effective implementation & support of the Teaching Pyramid (CSEFEL) in CAPC classrooms.

Demonstrate mastery of the Kindermusic curriculum and available teacher resources.
Operate classes with fidelity to the Kindermusic model.

Problem-solve to increase family engagement for each classroom.
D.
Develop a schedule that meets the needs of family’s enrolled in the program and ensures their ability to participate.

Employ strategies to ensure materials are on-hand and delivered within necessary timeframes to participants.

Stay current on curriculum changes or other changes to the Kindermusic program that would influence service delivery.
