Position: AB109 Program Manager Department: Reentry Reports To: Executive Director The Program Manager is a full-time, exempt position that is responsible for end-to-end management and execution of a portfolio of re-entry programs to ensure long-range continuity of the agency’s re-entry services department and to support the core program strategy and mission of the Ready To Work agency; and, oversees the 24/7 operations of the Ready To Work Re-Entry program, its multiple related contracts, and its contractual obligations.
In close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Program Manager will be responsible for leading programs grounded in deep analytics and strategy work.
This role entails strong relationship management with a diverse set of partners.
The Program Manager is responsible for providing both administrative and clinical/in-field supervision to re-entry services program staff as well as overseeing day-to-day operations of the AB109 Program.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities* The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: * Provide leadership and management to ensure the mission and core values of the organization are put into practice; * Manage program team to ensure deliverables are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner; * Effectively manage budget and control expenses; * Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively; take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with organization policies and procedures; * Direct and coordinate activities of project teams; * Assign work and assemble teams to maximize productivity and positive working relationships; * Effectively manage through clear, direct, and respectful communication; * Establish department/organization goals and objectives; * Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the organization; * Confer with Executive Director to formulate policies, procedures, and ways; to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accomplishing the department’s/organization’s goals and objectives; * Present the department/organization’s mission and accomplishments at various community events in order to build and foster community relationships; * Build and consistently strengthen relationships with stakeholders; * Effectively manage the operations of the Ready To Work program; * Demonstrates a high level of ability in combining vision, informed decision-making, and values-driven flexibility, with ability to gather agency resources, to lead and implement; * Actively reaches out and is seen as a trusted and effective advocate of the agency’s services to community stakeholders, government, associations, agencies, and the media; * Capacity to lead at county, state, and federal levels in the development of public policy and funding; * Works with potential partners, either private or public, to develop strong relationships that are of mutual benefit for the providing of children’s educational needs to the families serviced; * Attracts and mentors exceptional staff colleagues, earning a reputation for professional excellence, for appreciation of the complexity and challenge of working with clients/customers, for dedication to team-building, collaboration, open and honest relationships in a caring and non-toxic staff community; * Understands issues of compensation, benefits, staff development and support, and staff management, and is able through this understanding to implement policies and practices to build staff morale and to minimize staff turnover; * Demonstrates business expertise, with the ability to anticipate how sites can be mounted and maintained at suitable levels of quality in ways that the agency and the community can afford; * Pursues business development opportunities for new or expanded services, as part of a well-conceived and articulated plan, but also has the entrepreneurial agility to assess risk, evaluate cost-benefits, and to seize unanticipated opportunities; * Works with fiscal to recommend budgets, oversees revenues and expenditures, maintains internal controls and financial discipline, and collaborates closely to ensure the financial wellbeing of the program; * Understands how information informs decision-making, how assessment and evaluation relate to agency improvement, and how new technologies can enhance program functioning; * Takes responsibility for program compliance with all applicable non-profit laws, contractual obligations, and donor restrictions, and maintains appropriate internal policies and procedures to ensure such compliance and to avoid any appearances of conflict of interest; * Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
*Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)* * Three years or more of relevant experience preferably in a nonprofit organization, demonstrating progressively increasing responsibility and accountability as well as overall functional success; * Proven ability to lead teams, experience with coaching, training, and supervising individuals; * Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress, and crisis situations through effective problem-solving and mediation skills; * Effective verbal and written communication skills with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the organization; * Ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships; * Ability to effectively delegate work assignments, give authority to work independently, set expectations, and monitor delegated activities; * Proven track record of sound and accurate judgment in making timely decisions.
